The Leakage Current Recorder is an instrument specially designed for measuring insulator leakage currents in order to predict pollution levels on specific insulators and determining optimum maintenance cycles for specific area. The recorded data is stored on a SD memory card (secure digital) and can be imported to a computer and then analysed using dedicated software.

The leakage currents (1-1000mA) are measured at a sampling frequency of 2 kHz and the highest value over a preset time interval (1-60 minutes) is logged as the I-Highest value. These values aretime stamped and stored on the SD memory card.

POWER SOURCE


The LC-Track is designed to run as a standalone unit using ultra low power processes and had therefore a very low energy consumption. The battery powered supply ensured that the unit is fully isolated and will keep the recorder running for at least 6 months after which one needs to test or replace the batteries.

SOFTWARE

Windows 8 compatible software enables the user to interpret the stored data and import the data from the SD card to a computer. The software displays the data in a spreadsheet type display as well as in a graphical format. Export functions are available to export data to an Excel spreadsheet format and the graphs can be copied to the windows clipboard.

APPLICATION PROTECTION

The Leakage Current Sensor in it's of the shelf state can be installed in the field without any protection or any extra enclosures, but each site need to be inspected and further protection needs to be added when dealing with severe weather and pollution conditions.
